Well, the Mac Pro is here and lying safely on my desk. At least I think it is, I haven’t actually opened it yet.
I’m waiting to finish things up for The Hosting Factory before I get started with my new toy. But before that, I need a name.
So far, I’ve been pretty meticulous and selective with names for my hardware family. Just a little background, I’m pretty obsessive compulsive about small things like having a matching nomenclature and everything neat and organized.
For starters, I live on a street called Magnolia — that’s the network SSID and office name. The network is being routed through Juniper, my trusty Netgear router. Though I might switch to an Apple one, if just for the ability to share a printer on the network.
My whole camera setup (body & lenses) is Rose (because of the red rings on the lenses). My iPod is Jasmine, I think, though Violet would probably have been better now that I think of it…
The MacBook Pro is Lilly and her big sister still needs a name. I’m thinking Lotus but does anyone have any other ideas? I’d like to stick with the whole floral theme, but I was also considering Octopus as it’s got 8 cores.
Anyways, it’s open to suggestions and the best one will be used :)

Octopus would be much to “common”. What about OCTOPER, formed from Octopus + Juniper? What’s your opinion?… :) On the other hand, octoper.com is FREE, you can register it!
